Heraclio Aguilar's Biography
I was raised in a small California town called Porterville, at the center of the San Joaquin Valley and agriculture roots. Our town is known for having the most casualties per population during the Vietnam War, I have had a few relatives that served during that conflict as well. I was a bit of a trouble maker in my small town as I justified my actions on being bored but I still received my High School diploma from Porterville Panthers as part of Class of 2000. I felt that the year I graduated was very important and that I could be a productive person, in order to do that I had to leave town so I joined the Army. I was stationed in South Korea wen 9/11 happened and every moment of our day was conducted as if we were on high alert, it became the new normal for us until the day we exited the military. But I am glad that I chose to enlist and I would do it over again because of the friendship's I created and the knowledge that I absorbed. I later joined the National Guards to get the sense of being critically needed and became a Bradley Tank Driver but got out in 2007.
Immediately I went to college and received an AA in Business Administration but unfortunately the market crashed as I started to look for work. Over the next years I worked in retail, warehouse, inventory and Loss Prevention but I never got the chance to use my degree so in 2011 I decided that I needed to do what I could to be that adventurous and courageous individual I was in High School so I packed up my things and moved to Los Angeles. I checked myself into a Veterans Shelter where I worked on my mental wellness, I eventually received my BS in Video Game Animation with a minor in Animation as I created assets that will be used in The T.O.I. Soldier Project. Altough I have created a lot of assets I still need to create a whole lot more, and that is why I decided to take the next step.
I know that my initial contact list is full of country folk that live check to check but I started to changed that by fighting my introverted ways and attend special events. I have been a member of Veterans in Film and Television for over 2 years, I have been a member of the Screenwriters Guild for about 2 years and I have established relationships with important people that are in my industry, still I feel the TSP needs to be a company that is veteran owned and run to function properly. There is a lot of the developmental processes that are combined with therapy methods, I feel that the healing aspect will be affected. There is also the fact that real people and real stories are involved in the process and their wellness is our top priority.
